Club Motto: Let Us Lead by Serving Others

National Beta Club is an honor society that promotes the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, and leadership.

Membership is open by invitation to sophomores, juniors, and seniors with at least a 3.5 GPA. New members are inducted at the beginning of the fall semester. Invitation packets for prospective inductees are delivered in August.

Members must earn at least 40 service points per year, maintain a 3.5 GPA, and meet behavioral expectations. Students who do not meet these minimum annual requirements will be removed from the club roster, and their membership will not be reinstated.

Members participate in a variety of club service projects throughout the year including Trick-or-Treat for Unicef, canned good drives, visits to the Benton House Senior Living facility, MDA Shamrocks, Special Olympics, and Teacher Appreciation. At monthly club meetings, members are also connected with opportunities for individual service, such as elementary school fall festivals, AHS-specific events (e.g., homecoming, concessions, or Freshman Expo), or Douglas County-sponsored events.

Meetings are held the 2nd or 3rd Tuesday of each month in Room 401. Please check the calendar for specific meeting dates. Students have a choice of attending either the morning meeting (8:10 a.m.) or the afternoon meeting (3:45 p.m.) depending on which is most convenient, but meeting attendance is mandatory.
