Principal's Corner

Welcome To Alexander High School

Welcome to Alexander High School, where our mission is to provide a quality education for all students in a safe, supportive environment.   We offer a family friendly school designed to serve our students and parents in being successful to meet the challenges of the 21st century. We are proud to announce that Ivy Cann is our Teacher of the Year for 2012-2013 and Chris Small is our Douglasville Sentinel’s Coach of the Year.   We celebrate the concerted efforts of our teachers and staff, our students, parents, and community leaders for helping to make our school successful in its endeavor to provide rigorous academic programs, along with a variety of extracurricular activities.

We offer a host of opportunities where all students can capture the spectrum of the high school experience. Our unique assets include courses in Information Technology, Auto-Technology, and Agriculture. It is our belief that students flourish in educational environments where they have a myriad of course offerings, dual enrollment opportunities and a distinguished AP program.

Alexander is proud to broadcast that we are home to region and state championship titles. Chad Starnes is a 4-time Wrestling State Champion and USA Honorable Mention All-American. Our Wrestling Team is ranked 2nd in the 2013 AAAA preseason rankings. Our Band and Choral Department received many superior ratings at marching festivals and competitions. Savannah Day was invited to All State Chorus and four students participated in the Spivey Hall Honor Chorus. JROTC captured the highest honor possible, Unit with Distinctions. Terrance Thomas will attend West Point Preparatory Academy on a $300,000 scholarship. Taylor Shelnut and Jennifer Smith utilized the benefits of AP courses and dual enrollment. Both have earned several college credit hours towards their college degree. Our IT program is a standout program with Chris Landrum and Michael Sturdivant competing nationally and internationally in the CISCO NetRiders IT Skills Competition.

As we salute a new school year, we welcome new challenges and embrace our success. We dedicate ourselves to the pursuit of excellence as we soar to new heights. Please feel free to visit our school.

Yours in Education,
