Subjects Taught
French I, French II, French III

I attended the University of West Georgia for my undergraduate work, and I received a Bachelor of Arts in French and Theatre.  Later, after pursuing a career in acting, I attended Stony Brook University in New York State to get my Master of Arts in Teaching French.

I have been teaching for 13 years, and I have travelled and studied in France and other European countries.

I am Amy Lynn Cole, originally from Tallapoosa, Georgia.  I moved to Los Angeles after college and later to New York City to pursue a career in acting.  Although I waitressed quite a bit, I was lucky enough to be in several productions that afforded me the opportunity to see most of the United States.  After this however, I realized that needed a change.  Several years later, I decided to move into the field of language education.  I attended Stony Brook University where I received my Masters in Teaching French.

My husband and I moved to East Hampton, New York where he worked in Real Estate, and I taught French at East Hampton High School.  My husband and I have been lucky enough to have had the opportunity to travel extensively to France, of course, but also to Greece, Japan, England, and Germany among others.  Lana, my daughter, who is 9 years old, and RJ, my son, who  is 4, were both born in New York.

Over a year ago, we made the decision to move back to my home town so that we could be closer to my family and to a less stressful way of life.  We live in Tallapoosa, just a few minutes from my parents, and we are so happy to call ourselves "Georgians!"

I am utterly blessed to have a loving family, and I am so excited to be working here at Alexander High School. I hope I can impart my love for language, travel, hard work, but also finding the fun in every moment!
